Not Your Typical Tarot
Feeling freaked out at the idea of Tarot? So was I until a few years ago when I was exposed to a different way of using the Tarot. The main difference being not asking “the cards” and instead asking God. I use that term as a universal descriptor for what ever higher power YOU subscribe to. Together, we ask God along with other sources of unconditional love and light for clarity and guidance. The Tarot cards are simply visual tools we use to receive information and then we reflect on the message as it pertains to your life.

Reflective vs Predictive Tarot
The main split in Tarot is between predictive and reflective readings. Predictive readings assume that there is a truth that can be known, though how accurate and set in stone that truth is, how much of it you can know, and whether you can change that future depends on the individual practitioner's beliefs. Most readers come down somewhere around 'this is what will happen if you make no changes to your life' so if you don't like your predicted future, you can take steps to change it. The reflective side is about insights and inspiration to act. You very often know the answer to your questions, but it gets buried underneath your ego and various stressors, so Tarot helps to bring that knowledge to the surface. It's a meditative practice; there's no right or wrong way to read the cards as long as you are honest and kind.
